Fusing together the sounds of Pop, Rock, Dance, R&B and Electro, 2010 sees London based singer/songwriter Kazz Kumar step onto the scene with her unique and refreshing music style.
On 25th January Kazz Kumar unleashes her debut single ‘Dirty Word’. Already being tipped by British R&B star Jay Sean and New York’s Metro newspaper as one to watch this year, her debut video is directed by the critically acclaimed Amit and Naroop, who’s credits include the likes of Taio Cruz, Tinie Tempah and 50 Cent.
“Kazz Kumar’s music is the audio equivalent of her wardrobe. Loud, Brash, and Poppy as well as Cool, Credible and Unique. May her colour chrome beats spread like a virus!”

Formally a member of the Urban group ‘Sona Family’, Kazz has already toured around the world, released an album and performed in front of thousands of fans worldwide as well as developed a core audience in the British Asian market. Her songwriting with the group has seen popular tracks featured in MTV’s ‘The Hills’ and NBC’s ‘Las Vegas’. After four years with the group, Kazz decided it was time to fly solo and work on developing her own solo material.
Originally of Sri Lankan descent and hailing from the suburbs of Greater London, Kazz’s distinctive style and presence has captivated audiences around the UK in recent months with key performances at Radio 1’s One Big Weekend and ‘I Luv Live’ as well as performing at trendy London venues such as the Notting Hill Arts Club and Monto Water Rats. A BBC Maida Vale Live Session in 2009 also proved to critics that beneath her bold fashion statements and outspoken personality lies a singer/songwriter with raw untapped talent.
